Golfers gathered at the Redwater Golf Course on August 6 for the Town of Redwater’s
annual golf tournament, spending the day enjoying friendly competition while helping raise
funds for programs and initiatives in the community.
The annual event brought golfers together for an 18-hole Texas Scramble, with the day
beginning with registration, breakfast and a chance for participants to get ready for the
tournament before the shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
Although temperatures were on the chilly side, the weather did not stop participants from
enjoying the day.
The tournament offered plenty of opportunities for golfers to have some fun along the
course, including hole prizes and door prizes. A silent auction was also part of the event,
with the day concluding with cocktails, an auction and supper.
For the Town of Redwater, however, the tournament is about more than a day on the golf
course. Proceeds from the annual event are used to support local scholarships, community
initiatives and charitable organizations.
The tournament provides an opportunity for local businesses, organizations, residents and
golfers to come together while contributing to projects and causes that benefit the
community.
The town thanked everyone who participated in this year’s event and helped make the
tournament a success.
A special acknowledgement was also given to the tournament’s sponsors, donors and those
who contributed gifts-in-kind. Their support helps make it possible for the annual
fundraiser to continue supporting the community.
Volunteers also played an important role throughout the day, helping with the various
activities and ensuring the tournament ran smoothly. The Town of Redwater recognized the
golf course crew as well for their work both inside and outside to help make the event
possible.
Despite the cool conditions, participants appeared to make the most of the day, with the
tournament providing plenty of opportunities for conversation, laughter and some friendly
competition.
For many, the annual tournament is as much about spending time with fellow community
members as it is about the golf itself.
The Town of Redwater expressed its appreciation to everyone who helped make this year’s
tournament a memorable one, from the golfers who took part to the volunteers, sponsors,
donors and course staff who contributed to the event.
With proceeds going back into the community, the annual tournament continues to combine
recreation with fundraising and community support.
