The Radway Agricultural Society hosted its annual Easter Market on April 12,
offering complimentary entry to all attendees. This event always demonstrates the
amazing talent and wide range of products made locally. During a time where
individuals are striving to support Canadian made goods, markets such as the Radway
Ag Society Easter Market provide the perfect opportunity right out one’s front door to
purchase food products and more on a local level. In addition to the overwhelming
number of vendors, guests had the opportunity to grab a bite from the concession or
enjoy a homemade Ukrainian plate lunch, featuring traditional favourites such as
perogies that are always prepared in house by volunteer hands.
The market came alive with visitors, exploring a hall filled with vendor tables that
displayed an impressive array of local products, ranging from honey to handcrafted
items, as well as homemade paska. The Radway Lions Club was even in attendance
doing free vision screening for youth 12 and under. Despite facing competition from
several other Easter events that weekend, Radway’s market provided a distinctive and
inviting experience that resonated with families and individuals in the community.
The event’s success reflected the ongoing support from everyone who attends,
the commitment of local vendors, and the hard work of the Agricultural Society and its
volunteers. Together, they create such an environment that can only be described as
both welcoming and celebratory, they bring together the spirit that is always surrounding
events held in Radway.
Looking to the future, the Radway Agricultural Society is incredibly grateful for its
vendors and their ongoing support and presence and aims to build on this amazing
vendor list by establishing a market that becomes on of the most prominent and well-
attended within the area. Following the conclusion of the Easter Market, the society is
excited to focus on the upcoming Pioneer Days celebration and the Pioneer Days
Market, scheduled for July 26. This event is expected to further opportunities for local
artisans and vendors, while continuing to promote community engagement and
enjoyment for everyone.
