Richard Kimmitt, the proud owner of Northern Lights RV Resort, began his
journey with the property back in 2021. The resort was previously an old motorcycle
campsite known as the Howling Coyote. Upon settling in the scenic area of Hamlin, AB,
Kimmitt envisioned a thriving five-year plan for the family-oriented RV Resort. Open
year-round, the resort offers a plethora of activities and amenities, catering to both
members and non-members with options for seasonal, nightly, and weekend camping.
The resort has seen significant growth, currently boasting one hundred
campsites with plans to expand to four hundred sites. It has become a haven for
veterans and retirees seeking tranquility and a range of recreational activities.
Embracing a keen sense of community, Northern Lights RV Resort is more than just a
place to stay. It is a family that actively engages in local and surrounding events while
also providing campers with up-to-date information on available activities.
A highlight of the resort is its diverse range of activities, appealing to all ages and
interests. From weekly pancake breakfasts to quad trails, playground equipment, an
above-ground pool, various games, and a newly constructed mini-golf course – there is
always something exciting happening at the resort. The entertainment offerings span
from Survivor Games, Karaoke, and Movies under the Stars to Scavenger Hunts,
Olympics, and chili cook-offs.
The commitment to environmental harmony is a cornerstone of the resort’s ethos.
It is evident in the careful development aimed at coexisting with the local wildlife and
providing access to abundant wild berries. Northern Lights RV Resort is a place where
nature can be enjoyed without harming it. The property also features spacious
bathrooms and shower cabins, and a communal area stocked with books and
entertainment. Northern Lights RV Resort offers the added convenience of 24-hour
security to ensure the safety and peace of mind for all campers and members. The
resort also provides storage options and assistance for campers and trailers,
demonstrating a commitment to accommodating the needs of its guests.
Furthermore, the resort prides itself on its accessibility, cleanliness, and ongoing
expansion. They host regular GO RV tours to highlight new RV models and assist
campers with troubleshooting their own RVs. With over 110 members and a bright future
ahead, Northern Lights RV Resort is not just a place to stay but a place to grow with.
The resort is currently underway with plans to build a spray park and two indoor
swimming pools, offering even more exciting possibilities for a family holiday
experience. Booking a tour or accommodation at Northern Lights RV Resort is just a
phone call away at 780-656-6559.
