The Radway Pioneer Days event was a vibrant and lively occasion that united
community members and visitors from far and wide to partake in the annual summer
festivities organized by the Radway Agricultural Society. It served as a beautiful
opportunity to honor and rejoice in time-honored customs, evoking a sense of warmth
and nostalgia for the deep-rooted traditions of the community. A significant highlight of
the festivities was the bench show, a platform that showcased a range of exceptional
skills that are increasingly rare in today’s modern and fast-paced world. In an age where
convenience often prevails over craftsmanship, the bench show offered a space for both
adults and youth to proudly display their talents in areas such as baking, horticulture,
arts, and more, highlighting the diminishing art of producing one’s own goods.
Additionally, attendees were able to enrich themselves with the agricultural heritage by
exploring the local Krause Milling Grain Elevator, gaining valuable insights into the rich
history of the area.
The annual Car Show, a staple of the Radway Pioneer Days event, attracted a
diverse crowd with its wide-ranging display of classic and modern trucks and cars. From
vintage models to the innovations in automotive technology, the show was a thrilling
journey through the rich history of transportation. The Pioneer Days market was a
bustling hub of activity, with vendors offering a wide variety of goods that spilled out into
the open air. The enticing aroma of sizzling burgers and the sight of refreshing cold
drinks created a lively atmosphere for all to enjoy. The parade, a charming spectacle
celebrating both history and community unity, captivated the crowd and left a lasting
impression. Radway Pioneer Days once again succeeded in bringing the community
together for this, as always, eagerly anticipated annual event.
