Egremont Community Club presents: S’moresland

The third annual S’moresland event was met with sunshine and warm temperatures. Thankfully,
the weather leading up to the December 3 festivities cooperated and threw in some adequately freezing
overnight temperatures that resulted in the perfect construction and creation of the customary
Egremont Community Club outdoor skating rink. S’moresland always marks the opening of this free
outdoor rink for the community. Egremont Hall was packed with a variety of vendors for their
accompanying Christmas market, offering an amazing array of holiday gifts, ornaments, and delicious
sweets and savory foods.
Egremont Community Club members had been hard at work leading up to S’moresland,
decorating the hall befitting the season and event. Hot dogs were cooked and offered up with all the
fixings. Coffee, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider were plentiful and warmed you to the core with a
taste of all things Christmas. The tantalizing aroma of wood smoke filtered through the air, inviting
attendees to relax by the large bonfires with courtesy kits containing ingredients to create their own
perfect ‘smores. In anticipation of a S’moresland festival without the outdoor skating rink, a horse-
drawn wagon waited patiently to provide rides to children and children at heart.
S’moresland has become an annual holiday tradition and epitomizes a community coming
together. Egremont Community Club embodies a team of volunteers passionate enough to ensure this
event is one that coaxes families to return to year after year. Santa, Elf, and the Grinch were the stars on
top of the Christmas tree. The engaging antics of this trio drew in the children to visit, skate, and ride the
wagon, becoming a part of their family excitement for an afternoon of holiday fun.
