Record your own music at SunCave Studio in Bellis

Musicians who would like to record their music professionally don’t need to go far: Sun Cave Studio in Bellis will gladly work with any musician or band to provide them with the best experience in recording their music. “I usually produce and engineer the sessions, but if someone wants to bring their producer or engineer, that’s fine too,” Kyler Schogen, the Sun Cave Studio owner and operator, says. “I have a group of guys I work with; we can do pre-production if a single musician wants a band to play with. Then we’ll record the music, whatever the artist is most comfortable with. I’m also a guitar player by trade, and if solo artists need guitar tracks done, that’s also part of the service”. Kyler’s studio offers full support and services to any musician or band to record their own music.

SunCave Studios can then master a CD for the musician or they can do that themselves. It’s entirely up to the artist. Once that is done, the recorded music is ready for radio or digital packages such as IMusic or Apple Music. Kyler usually ends up mastering the music for most of his clients.

Kyler’s experience in the musical industry is impressive:

He started SunCave Studio in Hollywood, California, in 1984 on a small sixth-floor apartment. In those days, there were many new sounds in California. As business went well, they moved out to a house in the San Fernando Valley in 1988, where they converted a two-car garage into a full studio with a control room. It was here that Kyler had the opportunity to work with a lot of talented musicians like Jody Cortez from Ozzy Osbourne, Joey Philips from Atlantic Star,  Mae Mercer, vocalist with Willie Dixon, Memphis Slim and Sonny Boy Williamson.

The studio in Bellis is a full-time Protools 12 studio that can accommodate recording a full band playing together or overdubbing in stages and everything in between.

Their website https://www.reverbnation.com/suncavestudio, gives a full tour of what SunCave Studio offers. Many artists and different styles of music can be found here, including Kyler’s music. “All the electric guitar playing on the website is me except for Krissy Ross’-Gold,” Kyler adds.

The music on the website can be played and is all made by Kyler’s past clients. The “Featured” section hosts a variety of musical styles and musicians. “I try to put a variety of people on there, so people know we don’t do just one thing,” Kyler explains. “We also work out deals with people if it is going to be a six-hour day. And because it is a long day, most sessions come with a bowl of homemade soup and homemade bread”.
