The Radway Lions are kicking off 2025 with renewed enthusiasm as members
actively brainstorm innovative ways to create a positive impact on their community. One
of their recent initiatives included a visit to the Radway Library, where they presented
librarian Sandra Moschansky with a set of Brain Flakes.
Brain Flakes is a toy dedicated to its mission of nurturing the next generation of
engineers. It is centered around building confidence and promoting spatial learning
among children, perhaps paving the way for future innovators in the engineering field.
The Brain Flakes construction toy, characterized by its unique interlocking plastic
discs, is specifically designed to inspire creativity while enhancing cognitive
development. With these versatile discs, children can explore their imaginations and
construct a vast array of structures, ranging from simple geometric shapes to intricate,
complex designs. The experiential learning experience engages young minds and
serves as a fundamental stepping stone into the fascinating world of engineering and
design.
The Radway Lions felt that the high-quality STEM toy would be an excellent and
engaging addition to the library’s resources, aimed especially at enhancing youth
programming. It is a hands-on educational tool designed to spark curiosity and
encourage critical thinking among children and teenagers, just like a library does. The
Lions envisioned it as a catalyst for creative learning, helping to inspire young
innovators and problem-solvers in a fun and supportive environment.
