Thorhild Post Office set to deliver letters to Santa

By Brandie Majeau
Every year, Canada Post plays a crucial role in an enchanting seasonal
ritual—collecting the heartfelt letters from children and ensuring they are delivered to
the North Pole for Santa to read. This year, amidst the nationwide strike initiated by the
Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), parents can find solace in a special
arrangement that allows letters addressed to Santa to continue being accepted. This
magical provision helps maintain the spirit of the holidays, ensuring that children’s
wishes and messages reach the beloved man in red, preserving the joy and wonder of
the season.
While the strike has led to a complete cessation of postal services nationwide,
leaving letters were unable to journey to the North Pole. Each November, like
clockwork, Canada Post begins to receive an overwhelming influx of colorful,
imaginative letters from children filled with their holiday aspirations. In the previous year
alone, the dedicated postal service proudly sent out a remarkable 1.4 million
personalized replies from Santa, upholding a cherished tradition that has warmed the
hearts of Canadians for over forty years. During this time, it’s estimated that around 45
million letters have made the journey to Santa through Canada Post, crafting lasting
memories for countless families and creating a timeline of hope and joy.
In a Christmas miracle announcement, Canada Post has decided that postal
workers in Thorhild will now be able to accept letters to Santa. They have assured that
Santa will now receive these letters and be able to send a response to them. However,
It’s important to note that the Thorhild Post Office can only accept letters from residents
with a Thorhild address. If you live outside of the Thorhild area, it is recommended that
you contact your local post office to inquire about their policies for sending letters to
Santa.
For those wishing to send their letter to Santa, the process is simple yet magical.
Kids can write their letters, carefully sealing them in an envelope and addressing them
to: Santa Claus, North Pole,H0H 0H0,Canada. It’s essential to include a return address
so Santa can pen a response to each message! Best of all, no postage stamp is
required for this whimsical correspondence, making it even easier for children to share
their holiday wishes and dreams.
Canada Post employees will work tirelessly to ensure the letters reach the North
Pole promptly. And true to his old-fashioned spirit, Santa will enlist the help of Mrs.
Claus and his devoted team of elves to read and respond to each letter, making

this holiday season truly special. There may have been a delay, but letters to Santa are
on their way.
