The Kinette Club of Smoky Lake is excited to don their festive elf hats and roll up
their sleeves to support Santa’s mission this holiday season. On Thursday, November
28 at 6 PM, they will host their Annual Toy & Food Drive, an event designed to bring joy
and assistance to local families in need.
This year’s drive will feature a lively Holiday Convoy, which will be led by the
Smoky Lake Fire Department. The convoy is set to travel down every street in the Town
of Smoky Lake, making it easy for residents to participate by donating non-perishable
food items and new, unwrapped toys. These generous donations will serve a vital
purpose in enabling families in our community to embrace a memorable holiday season.
By contributing resources and support, individuals can help ensure that children have
festive meals, receive gifts that spark pure delight, and create lasting memories
surrounded by loved ones. This spirit of giving will encourage a sense of togetherness
and happiness, allowing each family to experience the true essence of the holidays,
despite any challenges they may face.
Residents are encouraged to bring their contributions outside to greet the convoy
as it passes by. Alternatively, for those who prefer to prepare in advance, donations can
be left on front steps or driveways where the convoy can collect them. The Kinette Club
wants to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to help, so if residents happen to miss
the Toy & Food Drive on the scheduled day, there are plenty of other options. Donation
bins are conveniently located throughout the town at well-known spots including IDA,
Home Hardware, Pappy’s, ATB, and the Smoky Lake Library, making it easy for
everyone to drop off their contributions.
In addition to food and toy donations, monetary contributions are welcomed.
Residents can make cash donations directly at ATB, or they can conveniently e-transfer
directly to slkineeteclub@gmail.com.
For anyone with questions about the event, or for those who live outside the town
limits but still wish to contribute, please contact Elena at 780-554-9906. Every donation,
no matter how big or small, can make a significant difference. Together, everyone can
spread the spirit of giving and ensure that this holiday season is filled with warmth and
joy for all families in our community!
