Immerse the mind at Thorhild Library

By Brandie Majeau

Thorhild Public Library is a fantastic place to escape the summer heat and

immerse yourself in a variety of thrilling activities. Picture the exhilaration of a local

group of teens as they successfully cracked the codes in a challenging escape room,

their minds buzzing with the thrill of finding the missing person. They also had the

opportunity to be part of the inaugural meeting of the teen book club, a vibrant hub of

discussions and shared reading experiences. These book clubs are not just about

books but about forging friendships and broadening horizons through engaging

conversations and reading during the summer break.

Thorhild Library is thrilled to introduce the Thorhild Public Library Lego Club, an

educational initiative running every Friday at 2 p.m. throughout July and August. These

LEGO clubs are not just about building with bricks; they are about building minds.

LEGO clubs provide participants with a stimulating learning experience by using bricks

and sets as educational tools. They foster critical thinking, develop fine motor skills, and

promote social skills through collaborative play. This innovative approach to education

ensures that children are not just having fun but also learning and growing.

Public libraries, such as the Thorhild Public Library, offer summer educational

and reading programs that provide invaluable benefits to the youth. They not only foster

a love of reading and offer incentives to explore the world through the written word, but

they also play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding reading levels that are often

lost during the summer months. Libraries also provide hands-on education and

activities, such as the LEGO Club, and encourage children to explore through various

methods and programming. Public libraries offer vital services to children during the

summer months and all year, often partnering with local schools to ensure students

have the resources they need to succeed. They truly make a difference in their

communities.
