Lamont recently marked the 30th anniversary of their beloved Summer Sizzler
Rodeo, which took place on July 13 and 14. The festivities commenced with the vibrant
Town of Lamont Parade and a delightful pancake breakfast, setting the perfect tone for
the rodeo kick-off. Families and rodeo enthusiasts were treated to an impressive display
of skills and expertise during the kid’s rodeo, which set the stage for the thrilling events
to follow. The opening ceremonies, conducted by Lord Strathcona’s Mounted Troop,
signaled the official start of an action-packed weekend filled with spectacular rodeo
events.
Both Saturday and Sunday were brimming with excitement as talented rodeo
performers showcased a wide array of skills, highlighting the extraordinary bond
between horse and rider. Saturday concluded with a delicious steak dinner paired with
electrifying live entertainment, culminating in an adult dance featuring the musical
stylings of Travis Dolter.
Alongside the thrilling rodeo events, attendees had the opportunity to experience
the excitement of the annual Combine Crunch, a demonstration displaying the power
and precision of agricultural machinery, held on both days. Moreover, families were
delighted by the specially curated Kids Fun Zone, featuring a wide array of engaging
activities and entertainment that captivated the younger audience throughout the entire
weekend. The success of the event was made possible by the generous support of
rodeo sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and the enthusiastic participation of everyone
who joined in celebrating 30 years of Summer Sizzlin’ Rodeo fun.
