The Thorhild Public Library was a lively hub of activity during its Senior’s Week
celebration, which culminated in the arrival of a bus filled with residents from Thorhild
Lodge, joined by many senior members of Thorhild County. Senior’s Week is a time
dedicated to honoring the valuable contributions of seniors who have greatly enriched
the quality of life across Alberta. Our seniors have played an integral role in building the
foundations of our communities through their hard work, profound wisdom, and
unwavering dedication. This week not only recognizes their past
achievements but also highlights their ongoing efforts to positively impact lives and
communities through their volunteer work and mentorship.
Thorhild Library went the extra mile to express its deep appreciation for its older
community members by organizing a heartwarming event filled with treats and goodies.
The library staff, with their genuine warmth and respect, dedicated a delightful afternoon
to express their gratitude to the seniors for simply being themselves. Additionally, the
Thorhild County Family Centre joined in the celebrations by inviting their Kindness
Counts Crew to partake in an evening of gift-giving. The Kindness Counts Crew
meticulously handcrafted beautiful bookmarks, which were distributed to all the
attendees of the Thorhild Library Senior’s Tea. This thoughtful gesture added a special
touch to the event and underscored the community’s commitment to recognizing and
honoring its seniors.
A wholehearted thank you goes out to all the seniors for everything they have
done and still do, a thank you for taking the time to come to visit together, celebrate, and
share the extraordinary lives they have lived, a thank you to Thorhild County for their
confection contribution, and a thank you to all who prepared and served such a
wonderful afternoon delight.
