The Newbrook Public Library made sure to mark the occasion of Senior’s Week
with an extraordinary celebration. The “Turn the Page Café” Thursday lunches were
momentarily set aside to pay tribute to the remarkable individuals and patrons who
enrich the community. The library was transformed into a cheerful and welcoming space
on June 6, adorned with colorful decorations and radiating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
In anticipation of this event, the Friends of Newbrook Library devoted the preceding day
to preparing a sumptuous feast to be shared with the respected seniors, recognizing
their invaluable contributions to the community.
As the doors swung open, the room filled with the sounds of laughter and
cheerful conversation as guests streamed in. Junior Friends of the Library members
eagerly took over for their senior mentors to step into the role of refilling refreshments
and ensuring no plate went empty until everyone was full. The air was filled with the
delightful aroma of carefully prepared dishes, and the space buzzed with the clinking of
cups and the lively hum of animated conversations, creating a vibrant and bustling
atmosphere within the library.
The annual Senior’s Tea at the Newbrook Public Library is a time-honored
tradition that sees the library undergo a delightful transformation each year. Delicate,
ornate teacups are carefully brought out of storage, the tables adorned with lace and
beautifully arranged plates, all contributing to an atmosphere brimming with joy,
laughter, and warm camaraderie.
Newbrook Public Library takes immense joy in opening its doors to the
community to host their annual Senior’s Tea. It is a wonderful opportunity to show
appreciation for the valuable contributions made by each member of the
community. They extend their heartfelt thanks to the Friends of the Library board and all
the helping hands and dedicated individuals who worked tirelessly to put together an
outstanding luncheon. Newbrook Library is also immensely grateful to the County of
Thorhild for their generous contribution, a delicious cake for dessert, which added an
extra sweet touch to the event.
