Breakfast with the mayor

On the morning of April 5th, the Town of Redwater hosted a fantastic event – the Mayor’s
Breakfast – which brought together 158 guests from different walks of life, a diverse group of
attendees which included local business and industry representatives, municipal elected officials
and staff, non-profit groups, provincial government elected officials and staff, educational staff,
and area residents.
Hosted by the esteemed Mayor Dave McRae, the breakfast was a perfect blend of
delicious food, entertainment, and networking opportunities. Guests enjoyed a scrumptious
breakfast spread, catered by Mario DeLuca, while being entertained by live performances and
guest speakers. The event also provided the guests with the opportunity to network and forge
new connections with fellow attendees.
The Mayor’s Breakfast also featured a series of informative, engaging, and thought-
provoking presentations that covered a wide range of topics. The presenters had done a
fantastic job of delivering informative and enthusiastic speeches that covered assorted topics
such as traditional knowledge, greetings, local history, operations, successes, challenges, and
future objectives.
The presenters included the Town of Redwater Mayor Dave McRae, highlighting the past
present and future of the community and Honorable Dale Nally, MLA for St. Albert – Morinville
and Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction, spoke about the government’s
initiatives to reduce red tape and improve services for the citizens. Other presenters included
Conifer Energy Inc and Jay-Nart Directional Drilling highlighted key points in the oil and gas
energy sector. The opening presentation by Dallas Arcand, 3-time World Champion Hoop
Dancer, was nothing short of mesmerizing and left the attendees spellbound.
Additionally, the Redwater & District Museum had set up a static display that chronicled
the history of Redwater, which was enjoyed by all the attendees. It was a fantastic opportunity
for everyone to learn about the rich cultural heritage and history of the region. Overall, the event
was a momentous success, and the attendees left with a better understanding and appreciation
of the region’s culture, history, and future plans.
The guests of the Mayoral Breakfast had the added bonus of a chance to win three
exciting door prizes. These prizes included a prize pack from FortisAlberta Inc., a travel coffee
mug featuring the Town of Redwater, and a 3-D printed replica of Redwater’s historic oil derrick.
It was an unforgettable event, and the Town of Redwater would like to thank all the breakfast
guests for their attendance and support and look forward to seeing everyone again at the next
one. The Mayor’s Breakfast was a perfect example of how events like these can bring different
communities together and foster new relationships.
