The Smoky Lake Family & Community Support Services and Family Resource
Network (FCSS/FRN) was delighted to announce the completion of their move to their
newer, larger, and more accessible location. The facility will further enhance their ability
to provide better and more consistent programming to the community. This space will
also provide the added element of confidentiality and anonymity to those who are
seeking guidance and assistance. The new location has been equipped and structed to
host a variety of activities including workshops, meetings, and child/youth programs.
With its centralized location and accessibility, FCSS/FRN is pleased that this will be a
welcoming space for all to participate in their upcoming events.
To celebrate the inauguration of the facility, Smoky Lake FCSS/FRN hosted a St.
Patrick’s Day event to invite the community to share in this wonderful occasion with
them. The open house style event created a family fun day atmosphere that was filled
with games and excitement, refreshments and great food, and the opportunity to
explore the space and meet the staff. The event encouraged all ages to attend and was
a wonderful opportunity for all to develop an understanding of what Family &
Community Support Services and Family Resource Network has to offer. The open
house was met with awe as community members discovered the resourcefulness of the
new space and the expanse of programs Smoky Lake FCSS/FRN has to offer.
The St. Patrick’s Day event received an overwhelmingly positive response, with
families and individuals stopping by throughout the day to enjoy the fun and festivities.
The excitement was palpable, and the staff was touched by the amazing turnout. The
smiling faces were a welcome sight as they entered the door, and while many of them
were familiar, several fresh faces joined in the celebration of this significant milestone,
making the day that much more special.
Smoky Lake Family & Community Support Services and Family Resource Network are
pleased to share their thoughts on the move, commenting, “The transition to our new space
marks a significant milestone, symbolizing growth and the evolving needs of our
community. This move, led by our director Rachelle, embodies a journey of hard work
and dedication. Seeing this vision come to life has been incredibly rewarding, with the
new space not only enhancing our service capabilities but also inspiring us to innovate
and expand our program offerings.”
The St. Patrick’s Day open house marks only the beginning of this journey for
FCSS/FRN, excitement continues to build as they look into the future and the many
ways they can expand their programming.
