The Lunar New Year brought in the Year of the Dragon. Grade 4 students at Thorhild Central learned about Lunar New Year and created Dragon Eyes using oil pastel as part of the learning they must complete about Fantasy literature this year. Additionally, students had the opportunity to experience hand grinding wheat into flour using a mortar and pestle. Students thought that grinding the wheat by hand was more challenging than they first thought. It would take a long time to grind enough to make a loaf of bread!
