The Thorhild and District Agricultural Society recently awarded its annual $500 scholarship to not one
but two students who are pursuing post-secondary education following their graduation from Thorhild
Central School. Given that there were no successful candidates for the 2022 year, the Thorhild & District
Agricultural Society board decided to grant two scholarships for 2023. The selection criteria are based
on academic achievement and community involvement. This year’s recipients embodied the values and
dedication that the Thorhild Ag Society seeks when assessing potential beneficiaries.
Terran Ewasiw and Ryne Semeniuk were honoured with this scholarship in recognition of their
exceptional commitment to secondary education and dedication as they transition to post-secondary
institutions. It is indeed an honour to recognize such outstanding students for their remarkable
achievements. Ewasiw and Semeniuk demonstrated motivation and academic diligence, showcasing a
passion for learning and a drive to progress academically. These attributes were evident not only in the
classroom but also in their community involvement and dedication. Both were deserving candidates,
and the Thorhild Ag Society board extends heartfelt congratulations and best wishes as they pursue
their chosen paths.
Prospective applicants for the Thorhild and District Agricultural Society scholarships must submit a high
school transcript along with proof of enrolment at a post-secondary institution. Candidates are also
required to submit a 500-word essay and provide references that attest to their character and
community engagement.
