The Town of Redwater successfully organized its inaugural Asian Heritage Month celebration on May
31st, in collaboration with The Fort Saskatchewan Multicultural Association. With the gracious support
of a grant from the Government of Canada, the FSMA included our community in this cultural
extravaganza. The performances were absolutely captivating, leaving the audience enthralled as they
engaged in Bhangra dance, witnessed mesmerizing Lion Dance, enjoyed Filipino traditional dance and
music, experienced a soul-stirring Filipino singer, indulged in Japanese melodies, and were treated to a
breathtaking fashion show showcasing the diverse fashion styles from various Asian heritages.
Additionally, we had the privilege of highlighting two talented individuals from the local community: the
Redwater Physical Therapy Clinic and the pottery artisan Ravi Gill. Stay tuned for the complete event
album, which will soon be posted online.
