Newbrook Public Library celebrated its second celebration of its year-long 65 th
anniversary. To commemorate 65 years, Newbrook Library will be holding special events every
65 days for the entire year. On May 11th, guests came together for an A – Z world cooking
potluck lunch. The dishes included spaghetti, lentil stew, butter chicken, scotch eggs, spaetzle,
cabbage rolls and so much more. They represented not only Canada but also Morocco,
Germany, France, India, Ukraine and numerous other countries – a true around-the-world
tasting experience. Close to thirty participants showed up with dishes in hand to enjoy the
company, a great meal and a unique experience. Newbrook Library was highlighting an e-
resource with this event that can be found on the library website, A-Z World Food. This
resource is available for everyone to check out and create their own world-tasting adventure.
Oh yes, and because it was a “birthday” celebration, there was also cake.
