On the evening of October 14 at 6:30 pm, H2H Designs owner Candice Deveau and her husband hosted a Fall and Halloween lady’s craft night at the Thorhild Library at 210 7 Avenue. Sixteen ladies signed up to join the eventful evening crafting together and enjoy some casual conversation with other members of the community with the same interests.
Deveau said, “H2H Designs started as a hobby and has grown into my own small business. With the enjoyment of crafts, I figured other people would like to give it a shot. We have been running this program with the Thorhild Library annually for a few years. It’s a great way to get community members together and is always well-attended. While I mostly do custom work, these workshops showcase some of what my company has to offer.”
The H2H Designs craft nights have been hosted a few times a year for the past five years. October 14 had been the first in-person event since before Covid. Many ladies were excited to get off the zoom meeting craft nights and return to the in-person fun. The craft nights vary in projects like framed signs, door hangers, wood décor and everyone’s favourite burlap wreaths. The gathering had all ladies full of smiles and laughs as they built their new creations together. They shared stories and unique knowledge of crafting.
Deveau stated, “Our attendees gathered with friends and met new people. Here in Thorhild, we have a lot of new community members, and this is a great way for them to meet new people. My husband and I prep all the materials for the projects. We had such a fantastic evening with many great people. The ladies did some awesome work!”
H2H Designs has recently partnered and expanded to the Redwater Library and The Pea Patch Quilters Pot. Keep an eye out for future posts for more fun craft nights to partake.
