Victoria Trail Agricultural Society welcomes all to their annual VTAS Fair Days in Waskatenau, at the AG Grounds from August 12 to 14. The event includes free entry for everyone but will have concessions and food for purchase. The event has many planned activities and hosts the North 49 Farriers’ third competition this season.
An outdoor concession will be set up for guests at the VTAS Indoor Arena. Smoky Lake grad class of 2023 will have a concession booth set up at the main ball diamond. Waskatenau Senior Citizen’s Association will host breakfast on Saturday morning at the Senior’s Drop-In Centre, and the Lions Club will host a BBQ at the Waskatenau Community Centre on Saturday evening. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Sunday will include the parade lunch at the community centre, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for the mini donut truck that will be around Waskatenau as well!
A little about North 49 Farriers are craftsmen who compete in farrier and blacksmith work. They are a not-for-profit company built to pull the industry forward. They are providing opportunities for ambitious farriers with their professional work with horseshoes. Through the weekend, they will be hosting three divisions of the competition, which include forging, shoeing, and single bevel and will be located at the VTAS indoor arena.
The eventful weekend will host both the ball tournament and Farrier Competition throughout its entirety. There will be a record toss, an egg competition, a kid’s bike and a pet parade, and your children will be busy enjoying the kid zone, which will have a petting zoo, sand dig and face painting!
So come to Waskatenau from August 12 to 14 and enjoy a fun-filled weekend with the family and check out some friendly competition!
