The Redwater & District Chamber of Commerce will be holding their AGM on March 30, 2022 as a hybrid meeting.
“Now that we are starting to get back to normal, our Chamber is starting to plan in person events for 2022” “It was hard for our Chamber to do anything in person with the restrictions and a lot of business owners are zoomed out. They miss the in-person networking with each other” says Chamber President Sam Baldwin.
The Chamber has started planning for the 2nd Annual Business Awards Gala that will be held in October during Small Business Week. “Our first Business Awards was held back in 2019 and it was such a huge success. For 2022, we have added one more award category and we are looking to get a live band for entertainment”
The Chamber is also looking at planning some Chamber After 5 Socials to get business to get together and network and chat with each other. “This will be a great opportunity for businesses to let the Chamber know what is affecting their businesses so the Chamber can create some advocacy pieces on their behalf. We are looking at hosting these Socials in Redwater & Thorhild”.
“Many Chambers in the province host these types of Social’s in their Districts and it gives the Chamber an opportunity to create advocacy pieces that will help the business community” says Past President Nicole Krill. “I’ve attended a couple in the past and they were fantastic.”
“ We are in the planning stages for other events for the Chamber, however, we can’t do this without the help of members,” says Baldwin. “We are always welcoming new members to our Chamber. You can be a
not-for-profit, an individual of the community, a home based business and business owner/manager(Brick and Mortar/Industrial/Agriculture). Our memberships are very affordable”.
The Chamber AGM will be held on March 30, 2022 at 7:00 pm and will be a hybrid meeting. The Chamber is looking for more Board members and Directors at large. Commitment for Board meetings would be approximately 20 hours per year. Commitment for Committees would be approx 30 hours per year. If you would be interested in being on the Board of Directors, please send a letter of interest to redwater.chamber1@gmail.com or call Nicole at 587-991-7049.
